Automated Irrigation for Greenhouse Rows:

The drip irrigation system is important and often necessary where water is short. In desert areas it saves a great part of the water resource, and it still meets the demand of the vegetables growing inside the greenhouse. It is cheap and easy to obtain, which is why it has been adopted so widely around the world, and it is the base that a greenhouse watering schedule is built on: the water is carried along the row and released at the root, so the grower controls where it goes instead of wetting the whole floor.

How the Lines Are Laid on Site:

In a greenhouse the line is run along the foot of each row, between the plants, so the water lands on the root zone and the aisle between the rows stays dry enough to walk on. One manifold with a tap valve can feed several lines, which means a whole bay is started and stopped from one point, and the irrigation system is specified with the house rather than added afterwards. Because the pipe is extensible and the length is made to order, the same line can be extended when a bay is added or a bed is enlarged.
