Do’s and Don’ts for Greenhouse Vegetable Seeds Sprout
The temperature in early spring is low and what’s the point should be paid attention? Following are four notes.Seeds should be disinfected firstly. Dipping the seed in hot water about 55 degree to 60 degree for about 15 minutes, which could kill the germs attached on the surface of seeds. A thermometer is used in the water when doing disinfecting process to control the temperature correctly and ensure the time.
Pay attention to presprouting of seeds. When finishing the disinfecting for 15 minutes, dipping the seeds in the warm water about 27 degree to 29 degree for 12 hours, and then washing seeds. After all processes, put seeds into a spacious plastic bag in the temperature condition of 25 degree to 28 degree to presprout and poke it regularly.
Then the greenhouse bed soil should be disinfected. If the bed soil does not be disinfected, the seedling stage would cause plant diseases.
At last the greenhouse inner temperature is also an important factor to the growth of plants. In the condition of air temperature of about 25 degree to 30 degree and the ground temperature about 22 degree to 25 degree, it is best for plant to grow and the seeds sprout quick and good. Generally, the seeds in a continuous low temperature were hard to sprout and easy to decay.
