In Mid-Winter to Supplement Fertilizer for Tomato Coloring
To supplement potash fertilizer and boric fertilizer timely is good for tomato coloring, but that fertilizer should be done enough in advance. Because that the potash fertilizer took effect slowly after fertilizing. If you add fertilizer during the time of tomato coloring, you won’t get the good results. Fertilizer could be done in the early time of tomato bearing fruits with water. Each Mu needs 8kg to 10kg potash fertilizer.Strictly control the temperature is a key point to get better coloring of tomato. According to tomato’s biological characteristics, the temperature between 18 degree and 26 degree is good for tomato coloring. When the temperature is above 32 degree, tomato lycopene forming will be influenced; meanwhile the temperature is below at 12 degree, the tomato couldn’t be colored. So it is important in the mid-winter to keep the greenhouse temperature. It had better to control the temperature at 25 degree to 30 degree in day time and at night to keep it at 14 degree or 15 degree. And the temperature difference between day and night should be kept between 12 degree and 15 degree to avoid bad coloring for tomatoes.
